I have to admit I was really excited to read this book, but I think I need to take a step back from Fantasy. This coming from someone who just started the Throne of Glass series, I can't see myself really taking my own advice. But this this book, I wanted to get into the story, but I felt like there was a lot going on in the short 350 so pages that it was. I liked Mer but I felt like the characters weren't really memorable

In complete honestly, I really did enjoy this book, but I felt like there was a lot left out... if that even makes sense. I thought it would be different the second time around because I barely remember the first time but, it was somewhat the same.

3.5 stars. A bit slow and weird pacing, but overall an enjoyable story

The first two-thirds of the story dragged a bit, and I would have given this only two stars because of it, but the last third managed to bump my rating to probably three.

A lot of events and revelations are crammed into the last part of the book, and I felt all my previous questions and plot hole worries were alleviated.

The magic was unique and there were a variety of characters in a solid story with an interesting fantasy world. As an adult, I found some of the elements of the characters storylines predictable but I think this would have been one of my favorites if I had read it in high school.

Okay so this is a magical heist happening in a Kingdom interwoven with welsh Legends. A very fun set up. The Main characters are lovely. Fane being my fave fae bound Boy. He is a Sweetheart. I also adored Renfew and Mer's relationship that was akin to father and daughter. I am not very happy how that ended. Fane and Mer's relationship ship was very cute but it felt like sometimes the emotional Connection was a bit lacking at the start. The longer the story went on the more their connection got build and I was very happy in the end that it was not rushed. Mer being Bisexual was a fun Bonus and her ex gf was also a very interesting character. The ending was a Bit of a surprise. All hail Fane and his fae pot. Loved the doggo.
The preparation for the heist was at a nice pace but the heist itself felt a bit rushed at certain points. All in all a very fun read did it knock my socks off? No. But it was still a Lot of fun.
PS.: the Prince can go die in a ditch, even though he did the right thing in the end.
