This wasn’t my favorite in the series. It didn’t seem to have the same amount of action as the others. I don’t know if part of it was due to it being a different author.

The writing in this book felt different, and im not entirely sure why. Maybe more time passed between writings. I felt like the author explained situations more, like there was more monolouging and frustratingly, sometimes it was about stuff I felt like I already knew.
I enjoyed the boom, im glad we have a good "end" to the series. But i would also say it didn't feel nearly as captivating.

Not even the seriously bad-ass Lisbeth Salander could save this story. To me, this felt like someone's laundry list of topics with a Millennium based story forced upon them. This novel did not measure up. The only thing saving it from less than 3 rating was a conclusion that was a surprise, some amount of suspense along the way, and of course our beloved hero Lisbeth. I don't know if the topics in this story were left pending in whatever notes Stieg Larsson left behind, or if they were introduced by Mr. Lagercrantz, but either way, they were not executed well in this story. Being a dedicated fan of Ms. Salander, i was compelled to complete the book. Otherwise, i probably would have moved on to something better, like Expanse #2 or Altered Carbon #2 :)

It has been a while since I read the first three books of Millenium and can't even judge if Lisbeth is so very different from the original, but in the end what mattered is that I enjoyed reading this book as I probably did with others. And I can't tell you that this is more boring than average crime book, because these are generally the only crime series I have ever read.

I really feel like I want to like these books more, but they're just sorta there for me. I'm not particularly attached to any character. But I did enjoy the mystery, which wasn't super complicated about halfway through when I had it mostly figured out. Overall, it was still good, though it was pretty short compared to the others.
