Finished the book because I had to but wasn't a huge fan. The gore was quite vivid which shows talent but the main character is not likeable in the least. It was a well written book in my opinion though because I have a lot of complex feelings which shows hiw amazing the author is.

Okay so where do I start with The Eyes Are The Best Part. Monika Kim really is an excellent storyteller and her writing style was so intriguing and made me feel so suspenseful it actually felt like there was a pit in the bottom of my stomach. I adored this book more than words can say but it also just made me feel so many things all at once it's honestly wild. Also, DO NOT look at the triggers if you don't want to be spoiled.

The synapsis tells you the plot, but this is really about diving into racism, sexism, social classes, and many other hateful practices that our society is built on in the USA. The direct call outs on behaviors and stereotypes of men are great discussion pieces on their own and I think this would make a great book club pick. Though, it is not for the faint of heart.
(also FINALLY a revenge story that doesn't start with r*pe)
