I only wanted to rate this book based on what I've read in it so far. Page four has some great tips for shopping smarter which I believe is my downfall when trying to downsize my cooking. The best tip was the reminder that buying bulk perishables to save money means buying way more than you will need. I also liked the tip to consider pre-cut veggies and the salad bar (!) when you need very small amounts of produce for a recipe. I will update this when I actually make something from this!

With so many cooking sites and recipes online, I don’t buy cookbooks anymore and have donated all but two of mine that have sentimental value. Borrowed this one from the library, renewed and now that I have to return it I think I will be asking for mine own copy for Christmas! Full of info beyond recipes, and the recipes we’ve tried have worked great.

I received this for Christmas and I have loved flipping through it. There are so many tips and tricks to not only cook for two but also shop. I’ve thrown away so many herbs and buttermilk. I have learned many things that I have googled millions of times from this one book! I think it’s a gem and have started my grocery list. I can’t wait to get started.

Fantastic cookbook for two. This is great for beginner cooks and experienced ones.

my one quibble with this wonderful, wonderful book is that the section in the front that lists essential cookware with *brand names and current prices* will make it seem dated eventually. Otherwise I would keep a copy for the day, eighteen years from now, when my youngest child goes off to college and I start Cooking For Two :)

Worth it just for the desserts

I often skip the introduction pages, but this book has great tips for tools, storage, prep, pantry, and shopping. The recipes are easy to follow and I already trust ATC to have the best and most helpful recipes.

We are new empty nesters. We love to cook out of cookbooks, but end up with so many leftovers or we cut a recipe down and it just doesn't turn out right. We have been cooking out of this cookbook for the past month. Everything we have tried has been delicious. Some of the recipes are a little fussy, but nothing is difficult. I highly recommend this cookbook!

I've already used one recipe from this cookbook and it turned out great. These recipes are very versatile, written for two people but can obviously be doubled for larger groups. Classic recipes with detailed and easy to follow instructions. A must have for any kitchen!
