I appreciate that the author's trying to make a statement about discrimination in this novel. And I also appreciate that we're talking about teenagers. But am I the only one who thought they just weren't doing enough? I mean, the media, the police, etc all think it's the zombies who are doing these horrible things. I understand Tak not going directly to the police and I also understand that he's not supposed to be the most tolerant of the Beating Hearts. But isn't Phoebe supposed to be such a great writer? Doen't they have this website? Why don't they use her writing abilities to tell the truth. I understand that they think the entire media is suppressing the truth (sounds familiar, yes?), but shouldn't they at least TRY to get the truth out there? Shouldn't they send their story about the true events of what's happening to the print and news media? At the very least, put the truth on the website. And after the website's shut down? How hard is it to make a new one? Oh well. I still enjoyed this one, but it's probably the least favorite of the YA series I've been trying lately and I definitely liked the first book in the series better than this one.

I read the first one of these books a couple months ago and absolutely loved it. This one was also good, although maybe not quite AS good. Probably because some of the novelty had worn off, and because it's a middle book - quite obviously waiting for its sequel. Nonetheless, this is still a very good series of books. I like the social commentary inherent in them, and I like the fact that the author can actually write. I'll definitely be looking for the next one.

I read it as a young teen so it seemed pretty good at the time but now..not so much.

This was a great book! I liked the first one better, but this one was good too. I liked Pheobe better with Tommy than with Adam, but oh well...I hope there is another one!

[b:Kiss of Life|97331|The Opposite of Fate Memories of a Writing Life|Amy Tan|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1171375276s/97331.jpg|1842599] has just really proven itself as a great sequel to what, I hope, will be an excellent series. At the end of [b:Generation Dead|2234737|Generation Dead|Daniel Waters|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1207151776s/2234737.jpg|3189585] we were left with Adam having taken a bullet for Phoebe out of love and out of terror. Then suddenly he comes back. Pete isn't held responsible for killing Adam because technically if you can show up at your own murder trial, does it even really count as a murder?

I think what makes KoL almost as enjoyable (if not more than) GD is that you get to see inside Adam's head while he tries to cope with suddenly being as differently biotic as Tommy. Somehow I feel like Adam is going through the same sort of stages that one might go through had they been severely paralysed or struggling to regain movement after an accident that might render a person without the capacity to move quickly or speak.

I zoomed through this story. Mostly because it was written very well but also because the plot just grabbed hold of my arm and pulled me along the way.

I must say though, I don't think I will ever look at ellipses in the same way ever again. ;)

dot dot dot.

Not bad. I'm still not sure how I feel about zombies. I am super glad that Adam came back, but it's really sad at the same time. I am glad that Tommy is out of the picture and that Karen is still alive. I was super disgusted by what was happening at the Hunter Foundation.

I enjoyed this book much better than the first. It has a lot more action against prejudice and it was inspiring seeing the zombies continue to fight against it, even though evidence and laws were continually building up to make them look like monsters.

Phoebe's gradual love for Adam was very sweet to read,
Spoilergoing from her idea of loving him because of guilt to her actually appreciating him for who he is

Some of Adam's chapters were very hard to read though. It was like Joseph in"Wuthering Heights", very hard to understand. As purposeful as it was to the story
Spoilershowing that Adam was thinking more coherently towards the end
it was putting me off reading it and that's why this book lost a star.

The humour was still present in this book, which i was happy to see! But despite all that humour, the horrific scenes were still very horrific. I admire the strength of the characters after all of their experiences.

I hope to get my hands on the next book soon!
