The promise of an epic finale!
The title of this book didn't appeal to me at first, I was afraid it would be only about Susannah's pregnancy. But that's just me underestimating Stephen King's ability to tell great and interesting stories... because this was so much more.
The 9th Stanza where Eddie bites his tongue? Pure gold. And the twist about where this is all going... pure genius.

My favorite parts involved Stephen King. Not much to say about this book except that it moves the story along but it left me with so many questions about the final book.
Suspense is building and tension is rising as our ka-tet moves to save Susannah and prepare to finally reach the Dark Tower and the end of their quest! I really enjoy these characters, and can't wait to finish their story! I loved that King wrote himself into this novel, and all the connections between this series and so many of his other novels. Definitely working through those listed once I complete the series!
This volume in a lot of ways felt like a set up piece for the final volume. It was distinctly shorter than the last few novels, breaking the trend toward larger pieces. Although it ended with a cliffhanger, the end felt a little tacked on, even though it was still engaging. I'll be excited to see how the story wraps up all the threads that King has split.
Yeah.... That whole part with Stephen King inserting himself (whether it was truly him or not, close enough). Just no. The 7th book better improve.
