For me, this book is very underrated. Some if these chapters literally had me screaming from excitement. The main concept the book tries to convey is, in my opinion, very well excecuted, though I can see why it would be somewhat disliked. Nearing the end of the journey to the Tower, maybe I should read the last book now while I'm still 19.
This is my least favorite of the series...I really can't remember that much about it, except journeys to present day Maine and New York and the encounter of the character Stephen King. But as weak a link as it is, it's still a great story and obviously needs to be read.

This book was a fast read for 2 reasons:
1) It was, compared to the other books, about half the amount of pages
2) IT WAS SO GOOD - we learned a lot more in this book about the beams, demons, Mia, the chap, and basically everything.
That ending has me so confused, I love it.

Not bad, a little weird of the author to throw himself in there quite so much, but it felt more like he is having so much fun with it and seeming to need to express that this series is really what ties everything he's done together.
I was between 3 and 4 stars. So let’s say 3.5. I really enjoyed how the beginning of the series was in a completely different world. This series is unlike anything I’ve read by king so far. This book has gotten a lot closer to reality which is when I start to not enjoy Mr kings writing. He also declared himself as a god of sorts in this book, and it just irritated me a little bit
It was pretty obvious that this had to be all setup for the final showdown to get to the Tower, so I'd just like to say it was one of the better setup novels I've read.
Finally felt like there was some significant progress, though I was less interested in the presence of Stephen King as a character within his own novel(s).
A little disappointed with the ending... it felt unfinished (more so that the other cliff-hangers of the series) but now I'm finally on the to the conclusion of the their tale!
