This is not the Baldacci i have been reading for years. This is outsourced and awful.
I have read most of Baldacci's work and have generally enjoyed them. I found this effort a bit on the weak side with a very convoluted and confusing plot, which, even when finally revealed, remained a bit murky. It got more interesting as it went on, but it is not one of his better efforts.

This was my first by this author. I found it slow going until about 3/4 through when it picked up the pace.

It took so long to actually start enjoying the plot of this one. The main character’s decision making Is incredibly unbelievable and eye-roll inducing. The ending somewhat made it redeemable and is the only reason for the 2 star review.

I've enjoyed Baldacci's other books, but this one just didn't make sense to me. I have no idea why the main character did any of the things she did, nor why she was so generous and kind to the other character, esepcially after she was maniputlated by her. Couldn't get it into it, and didn't find it believeable (I can suspend disbelief for the sake of action in a story, but the character has to stay true to themselves).
