A literal new favorite!

This was amazing and genius and I loved it.

The mere concept of cities becoming alive is GENIUS. The fact that she has a city like New York come alive and has all the burroughs as a person and all is AMAZING.

I LOVED THIS. I loved how each “burrough” or embodiment of each through our characters was fantastic. They’re specific to the ideas of each of the borrough and you can tell them all apart.

I literally can’t seem to find the right words to talk about how much I love this though. I read this super fast. I picked it up and was absorbed from PAGE 1. I wanted to keep reading and I wanted to know what was happening. I loved it. It’s been awhile since a book SUCKED me in like this one did. Easily going to be a favorite of the year.

The thing I want you to see is keep reading even when you’re confused in the first chapter 🤣 it gets so good! If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would! Loved the audio book and not that I’ve read it I’m looking for a hard copy to add to my “trophy shelf” and to highlight!

I liked it very much. As with the obelisk books the characters are great and it‘s fun to see them interacting. The play on symbolism adds even to this.
Like in the obelisk gate, I found the hate & racism a bit too caricature but maybe that‘s the point
