I really expected more from such a popular book. This one was...terrible, gross, and had a despicable main character who never learned anything. Basically, no redeeming qualities. Reminded me of Scrawl by Mark Schulman.

The whole series:

First couple of books were good and very enjoyable, the following books just kind of repeated similar storylines and did not really achieve much.

Funny book. Right from the first line, it showcases the thinking, nature of a young boy not to mention i went back to my childhood in several chapters. Extremely funny and refreshing

I gave up on this book because it held no appeal for me. I read it in Spanish and the vocabulary was fairly simple. I found it boring. I started it because so many of my fourth graders enjoyed it. Maybe you have to be in that age bracket to enjoy it... or maybe it helps to be a boy.

had a one-hour book club with friends unpacking the queerness and shaky family dynamic of DOAWK it was so intellectual

Neljäsluokkalaisen tyttäreni suosikkeja :)
