Diary of a Wimpy Kid

While I didn't find the main character particularly likeable, it was, nonetheless, a hilarious book.

Great book done in journal style (not to be confused with a diary), Greg tells his story of a year in middle school with funny cartoons and to the point journaling. Great for upper elementary boys to read.

Reading this as an adult has made me realize, Greg was a terrible person

The voice in this story rings so true to middle school boys. Each escapade is raw fun in words. The cartoon style illustrations add to the fun. Boys and girls both seem to enjoy the story.

Very cute for what it is-- an elementary or middle school book

greg is so unhinged and i love it

There's a certain Life Is Hell quality to the writing and art of Diary of Wimpy Kid, but it's lacking a sym/pathetic central character. Still funny, and part of the humor comes from reading it as an adult and also the complete lack of self-awareness or conscience that Greg Heffley seems to have. While Greg's behavior and attitude are perfectly accurate for his age, it doesn't make him any more endearing, but it's very possible I'm not the intended audience.
