Beautiful art. However the writing felt a little uneven - often characters narrate what they're doing in a very strange and cheesy fashion and frequently there are inexplicable changes of allegiance. If you go with the flow and savor the art, it's worth those annoyances.

The art is of course through the roof spectacular. Moebius is a God. His colours astound me. His composition, everything. And yes, it's clear this book started or inspired so many sci-fi filmmakers. I'm not the giant Jodorowsky fan that everyone else is. I like him a lot, but I can hit overload when I feel like every turn is a new creature, a new world, a new set of brain-breaking rules. There's great unity to this story. It's not an endless hunt for the new or weird and it resolves beautifully with Jodorowsky's typically soulful spiritual touch.
