I wanted to like this book, but in all honesty, I just can’t. I can appreciate the word choice and universal truths discussed in the novel. For this alone, I rate the novel 3 stars.
But if I base the review on the characters and the story, I can only give 1 star. Emma is a horrendously selfish character. I could not feel any sympathy for her. Her husband, completely pathetic and unwilling to see or accept any truths in relation to his wife.
I could sympathize and even respect the characters if I noticed some arc or growth in the characters throughout the story. Unfortunately, this never happens.

No tan pesada como la recordaba aunque el tercer libro lo leí con más prisa que de costumbre. Un clásico que aún deslumbra por su prolija construcción.
