the premise of the story was interesting but sadly, the characters were all extremely unlikable and i failed to have sympathy for any of them. the terrible characters also killed any of the horror vibes in the story.

Spooky and atmospheric, the setting of a haunted house and Japanese folklore provide a perfect setting; unfortunately I had a hard time with the characters, as I felt they weren't well rounded nor did I feel that they acted like real people. This undercut the absolutely perfect environment and made the novella somewhat unenjoyable.
