3.5 stars ✨ would recommend giving the audiobook a go, cause you know, Jake and Bridget Bordeaux 👌🏻
Also really enjoyed the fact that the audio was back and forth female and male narration throughout - no Bridget doing male voices for the male characters and no Jake doing female voices for the female characters, if you get what I mean 😂

I enjoyed this book! It wasn’t anything ground breaking but it had my attention throughout. I will say that I think I would’ve struggled with what felt like a lull in plot midway through the book if I had been physically reading this book. But it didn’t bother me as much listening to the audio. All in all I’m definitely intrigued enough to see what happens in the next book, and will be continuing with the series 😊

This book sucked me in and I couldn't put it down. It's everything I love in a book, enemies-to-lovers, arranged marriage, fated-mates, dark brooding prince, and high fae. Not only does it have all that, but the book is well paced and the witty banter never stops. I immediately started the second book.

A pretty standard fantasy romance. I think people who are bigger fans of the fantasy genre as a whole will get more out of this, but even so this has a few of my favorite tropes.

The first 3/4 were 3 stars, but the last quarter was a slog, with noticable problems with pacing as well as contrived plot points. Kearl did do a good job showing the slow growth of trust and love between the main characters, which I was glad for. Dialogue between the characters often struggled to maintain mood, though; things often went from tense debate to cheerful banter, and it didn't work.
