🥵 Daddy Reaper 🥵 Yes, pls & thx 🔥
We first met Azagoth, the Grim Reaper, in Ecstasy Unveiled, where we found out he's Idess's father. We met him again in Lethal Rider when Than made a deal with him. The books in the Demonica series have to be read in order, but Azagoth can be read as a standalone.
Azagoth is tired of living a cold and bleak existence. He wants a mate to share his immortal life with. Time travel angel Lilliana gets herself in trouble and as punishment, she's chosen as Azagoth's mate. Lilliana is forced to go to Azagoth's realm, the dark and bleary Sheoul-gra.
I guess you could call this an arranged marriage romance? 🤣 That's what I'm calling it anyway 😏 I've had a crush on Daddy Reaper since the first time we met him 🥵 Azagoth is the big bad Grim Reaper that makes everyone shit their pants. But he's sexy and he has a great sense of fashion 🥵 and I'm SO happy the author gave him a HEA. Larissa Ione chose the PERFECT mate for Azagoth.
Azagoth is a cold, emotionally constipated, and grumpy hero. With the help of Lilliana, Azagoth gets in touch with his emotions and rediscovers the joys of life. I don't want to spoil too much, but Lilliana is literally the only one who could have caused such a change in Azagoth. Her powers as a time travel angel are important to the story and man, it was so wonderful seeing Azagoth FEEL again 🥺
The backstory and the character growth of Azagoth is so well-written. So. Freaking. Good. Lilliana also has a solid backstory. These two are honestly perfect for each other. They've only known each other for a short time, but their romance is 💯 well developed and believable. I'm very satisfied with the HEA and I'm ecstatic that Azagoth and Lilliana get a full-length novel later in the series 😍
P.S. Idess and Azagoth hugging 🥺😭❤️
P.P.S. Azagoth in beast shape though...still 🔥 I said what I said.

I really liked this short little novella. I love this series and even when it's just a little something it makes me happy and helps pass the time till the next book comes out. Since I met badass Azagoth, I had hoped he would find his person and he boy did he.
As always with novellas, I wish they were longer but this worked for me.

I love this world and this book was no exception. Azagoth, the poor dear. :( I wanted him to get his little bit of joy in life. Too much bad's been pushed his way. Lilliana has all sorts of the spunk I like. She's feisty in the best way possible.
These two are a great compliment to each other. They deserved their happily ever after and really helped each other move on past centuries of bad feelings.

Sigh, it's been a while since I've read a Larissa Ione book. Since I seem to have skipped Azagoth's book and it's in the romance package on Audible. I listened to it today. I now feel a need to re-read all of the Demonica books. Total enjoyment!

For a novella, it was actually pretty good. There was a compelling story, good world and character building, and there was even some spicy scenes sprinkled in. I really can't wait to read more from this series.

As always, Larissa delivers! When we met Azagoth in previous books he was a closed off, scary as fuck badass who forced Than to give up some tats. Who knew why? And for why he really did that.. I did not expect! Lilliana and Azagoth had such an emotional and physical chemistry right away, and despite her 'treachery' she was able to break his shell and reawaken him and his entire WORLD. LITERALLY.
I loved the chronoglass scenes and seeing him be completely open and free which he hadn't been in millennia. I do wish this was a full blown book and not a novella, but maybe we'll see more of them later!

Pretty good short story, probably one of the best by Ione in my opinion, so now I'm hoping that Netgalley will give me Revenant, that would make me really very very happy.
Una breve storia veramente carina, probabilmente una delle migliori della Ione ultimamente, quindi ora non mi resta che sperare che Netgalley abbia pietá di me e mi mandi in anteprima Revenant, che mi farebbe veramente molto ma molto felice.

Azagoth has the power to condemn souls. After millennia of being the grim reaper he wants something beautiful to call his own. He won’t continue with the angels’ demands unless they send him a mate.
Enter Lilliana, stuck between a rock and a hard place, she’s given a choice: either lose your time traveling capabilities and become lobotomy Larry, or become the grim reapers wife and live out eternity in hell with the option of redeeming herself IF she can steal an artifact and bring it back to heaven… simple choice right? What she didn’t expect was to find a gorgeous and gentle, caring man under the rough exterior and fall for him. How will this end up affecting her choices?
I will definitely say I was quite impressed with this novella! They are usually way too short and rushed and leave the reader wanting(not in a good way). I loved that there was some back and forth banter between Lilliana and Azagoth from the start that established that she wasn’t some poor maiden, but a woman with a backbone who goes after what she wants. We’re talking forced proximity, snarky heroine, strangers to lovers to enemies to lovers. It was deff giving some serious Hades/Persephone vibes (even though Hades himself appears in the book) I’m actually really excited about reading more of the Demonica series and learning about the rest of the characters and their stories!! I highly recommend this fun read!!
