Catching up on reading from a few months ago - I remember liking this one because of a) visiting characters fae Margaret and vampire Thomas and b) an epically comic scene at the beginning with a mom of a friend of Jessie’s selling essential oils. I was skeptical of the new kid character, who did eventually grow on me.

I really liked this a lot. I thought I was getting tired of this series, and that it had run its course for me. I guess it hasn't, though. This book still felt fresh enough, with new characters and new ideas, that I didn't feel like it was just the same story told all over again.

I love Mercy and Adam's relationship, and definitely like it best when they are supportive of each other and there's no manufactured drama, like ex-wives.

This is probably my second favorite urban fantasy series, after the Kate Daniels series.

A re read. Just as good as the first time round.
And I love Baba Yaga!

Finally a good Mercy book! After the previous weaker installments, this is such a relief to read. I didn't have to skip or skim and actually read through the whole book LOL. The stuff about the Gray Lords is fascinating, and the new characters (Margaret and Aiden!) breathe life into the story.

I had a great time with this instalment. The troll fight is very fun and action-packed, and I liked that so many werewolves got some spotlight in this story, as well as Jesse.

Enjoyed this more than the last couple. I really don't care for Christy and whatever storyline and drama she brings.

Spoiler farewell walking stick, it was great knowing you. Kind of sad that it's broken. Half hoping it will magically reappear at Mercy's side in the next book
