Summary (spoiler-free):
Harry Potter is returning to Hogwarts for his fifth year, but things are darker and more complicated than ever. The wizard inch world is in denial about what really goin on, and Harry finds himself caught in the middle of a lot of tension, both inside and outside of the school. As tensions rise in the wizarding world, Harry must face new challenges at school, a lack of trust from the adults around him, and a growing sense that something big is coming.

My thoughts (spoiler-free):
I liked the book, but it wasn’t my favorite in the series. The story had some intense moments and a darker vibe, which was interesting, but I forgot a lot of details since the book was super long. Also, like all the other Harry Potter books the ending felt a bit rushed but I did enjoy when the entire premise of what’s been happening behind the scenes is told to Harry. I feel it’s the same storyline over and over again just written differently. I do appreciate the subtle hits Rowling gives that turn out to be big in the story later on.

Rating Breakdowns-
Plot - 8/10. The premise was good but slow and it kinda felt like it was repeating what happened in the previous books but in a new way
Characters - 8/10. I feel like Harry is very naive and his emotions keep getting to him. I feel that since the beginning of the series, yes he was grown tremendously, but still falls for the same thing. A
Writing Style - 7.5/10. Writing was pretty good, I’m not much of a third person reader but it was still good. The book didn’t need to be this long though.
Pacing - 7/10. Slow. It would very a lot through the book, one minute it the next day and the next two months later.
World-Building - 9/10. The entire primes of the story/series was really good. She brought the entire aspect of wizards, magic, ghosts etc, to life in a way that isn’t boring.
Spice Level - .5/10 🫑. Nothing at all, just a small kiss that was told about.
Tropes - The chosen one.

Spoiler Summary/My thoughts :
The book was was good but like stated above was very long and I often forgot important details. The characters especially I feel fall for the same things, especially Harry, Ron is the basic follower in a friends group and Hermione buds in too often, though her idea of what was happening in the end was good. I enjoy Rowling tying up loose ends in the book and tying everything together. One thing I want to add is that Sirius death didn’t faze me. I felt that Rowling kinda wrote him in this book in a way where I didn’t really have any feelings for him and made me not really care for his death, and the way she wrote Harry’s grief was not the best and felt very flat.
