This is my second favorite Harry Potter book, close to being my favorite!

What I love:

- Harrys PTSD. It is accurate, it makes sense, I like that. Many think it's annoying because he isn't sad in a way where it makes him a better person, he actually becomes a bad friend and he lashes out and is mad at the wrong people. His PTSD takes up space in the book and I liked that.

- The politics. SO much of it and I love it. Revealing how fake everyone is was nice.

- the book was heartbreaking, it made me feel.

- Harry. He grows so much in this book. I love that. I think this book is the one where his character developes the most. He learn to accept that he is the chosen one. Before, he was just a boy who tried to survive, didn't think much of himself and really didn't want to be the one to call any shots. In this book however, he accepts that that is who he is. He accepts his fate before he knows it. He doesn't know about the prophecy yet, but he knows that Voldemort is out there, so he starts teaching kids. He accepts that nobody else will step up to do something, so he does. He learns to accept that he is that person.

- Finding out the marauders were bullies. It changes your perspective. We learnt to love them. Now we are just as confused as Harry on how to feel about them. I love when readers are put in the situation of the character. We know we shouldn't let it slide but we still like them and are as conflicted as Harry. I love that. It's challenging.

- Neville, Luna and Ginny. They are such a great addition and I love that Harrys circle of friends is expanded here.

- Voldemort vs Dumbledore

This book is just amazing, I swear!

2024/5 Reread:

This might be my favorite book of the series and it was the one I was most excited to re-read.
The only thing I have to say is that I just don't understand why Harry did not send Ron or Ginny to fly to the Burrow and get the Order Members involved at the end of the book when they leave for the Sirius-Rescue-Mission. The Theastrals would have known the way (as stated in the books, they were the ones knowing how to get to the Ministry as well). Without the Order the six would have been all dead and they didn't know Snape was contacting the Order, meaning they went into the Ministry thinking no help was coming. They should have thought about splitting up and finding help somehow! I even think telling a teacher like Flitwick that Voldemorts in the Ministry of Magic would have been smarter than barging in without telling anyone. But at the same time, when I was 15 and reading this book, that thought didn't accur to me either.
