Dane (H) provides a home for Camilla (h) after her parents’ deaths but keeps himself withdrawn from her as much as possible in order to protect her, from both the world of organized crime he’s a part of and from him. Camilla may be young and inexperienced, but she wants Dane, and a disobedient act may give her what she wants and put herself in extreme danger. Hot and intense mob quickie with a bit of spice and a side of danger.

Soft DNF (60%) For a taboo novella with mafia vibes, this was perfectly fine! I just wasn't in the right mood anymore.

I can't believe Darcy Rose managed to write a story, complete with a proper background, great chemistry, and action-packed scenes, in only 72 (PDF) pages. I am in awe of her writing. Seriously. I just can't get enough of it. It is always filled with filthy sex scenes that will leave you panting, heartfelt dialogues that will make your heart ache for someone to say those things to you, and action scenes that will have you on the edge of your seat.
Absolutely perfect.

I feel like this may have been a tame Darcy Rose read, but they still don't disappoint by pulling readers in with any story they write. This was a forbidden ward/guardian, age-gap romance that had some Mafia in there. It was pretty mild on the spicy scale, imo, as there were 2 scenes and there was some action. I feel like this one that we could have gotten so much more if it was a novel, especially in the year at the end of the book.

Forbidden romance with an age gap, set in a mafia world? Sold. Don't have to ask me twice. Dane is grumpy yet protective and Camilla is his prize. Rating is solely due to the size of the age gap. Camilla being underage is something I am not a fan of. Personal preference. Otherwise it was decent. 3/5 stars.

Guardian/Ward age gap romance I’m here for it. Dane is Camilla’s guardian for 2 years. Camilla thinks the sparks are flying from one side but what she doesn’t realize is Dane is the head of the Chicago mob. But all it takes is Camilla to sneak out of the luxurious cage Dane keeps her in and Dane to snap and not hold back after he finds out. I’m excited to read the next book about Fiona, Camilla’s best friend.
Everything that happens is with Camilla of age, and Dane was set on keeping his distance but well that doesn’t work.
