aside from the fact that jay kristoff fucking SUCKS my dudes, he cannot write women. this whole trilogy has been plagued with "exploding ovaries" and scarlett's constant talking about her breasts (also i feel like i'm personally owed money for the second book when scarlett talks about her breasts changing sizes with her period what the fuck my dude). overall, the romance of the main two characters (auri and kal) was as stale and boring as ever, with the redeeming characters being the lesser focused ones. the highlight? fin as always. the lowlight: me being forced to endure more soulmate crap from kal & auri. anyways if you must read this book just pirate it. it aint worth ur money.

As the final installment in the Aurora Cycle, Aurora’s End brings the series to a dramatic and satisfying close. I listened to the audiobook, which featured multiple narrators which was a fantastic choice that really brought the characters and shifting perspectives to life.

The writing continues to be beautifully poetic in places, a surprising and welcome touch for a fast-paced sci-fi adventure. While I appreciated the emotional arcs, I couldn’t help but feel that not every character needed to be paired off romantically. Some of those resolutions felt a bit too neat.

Still, the ending struck a great balance between closure and impact, and left me feeling fulfilled after the high-stakes ride this trilogy has been. A strong and well-crafted conclusion to an ambitious series.

A fitting finale to this fun series. Plenty of fighting, kissing, running, bleeding and crying.
