A few rough chapters here and there, but the art work is amazing and the cast is great! Looking forward to reading the next volumes

I almost gave up on this one at the beginning because I just did not get it. It was so all over the place and I thought maybe I wasn't cool enough for Neil Gaiman in comic book form. But then I checked out all the reviews on goodreads and saw so very many good reviews. I thought I must be missing something, so I kept on.

And it did get better. The writing is very compelling and there's something about it that keeps you reading. The artwork wasn't my favorite, although I know many people really like the style. I will say that this is quite graphic, and so gentler readers should proceed with caution. I'm glad I finally got to this one, and look forward to more in the series, as I've read this is the weakest, so if it gets better from here, onward for me!

The first time I'm introduced to the real story of Sandman. The last time was in a DreamWorks animation movie adaptation with Easter Bunny, Santa etc.

At first it seemed a little bit old and I was kind of confused by all the voices, chronology. But 30min or an hour or so you get immerged in the story and it is fantastic. Especially the voices and the audio effects. The best Audible I've listened so far, it is perfect.

Well, if I got to put some flaws, some things were disgusting. Some environments, the description and behavior or villain characters like the one with mouths in his eyes. I don't fancy this kind of stuff but still, it is the best audio for me right now.

I love Neil Gaiman.
Not 5 stars, because it's not a novel, it's... comic books explained to people who cannot see. But every now and then, Neil Gaiman's... words, poetry, beauty comes through.

A good introduction to a series I've had recommended to me numerous times over the years. I'm glad to have finally gotten around to starting it.

*2024 reread
Definitely has potential. I think the first time I read it I got swept up in the acclaim this series gets. This time reading it I really formed my own opinions. It is very interesting though and makes you think a lot.
