Dune Messiah

I, too, would be a bit upset if 61 billion people were killed in my name. Most of this book is just Paul being like yeah I won't sleep with my wife and Alia being annoying and horny. It's definitely an interesting shift from the first book it's really hard to root for any of them.
The whole Paul can see because hes living his visions in real time was really interesting. Like this is all fate but at a certain point fate fails him and things change. Im very torn about whether I want him to be dead or not.
I want to say not enough happened in this but really how much happened in the first book.

Dune Messiah reads extremely different than the first book in the series. It was a bit jarring going from Dune to this book. I did enjoy the extra time with the characters.

this felt so anticlimactic like wdym the second part to your first 800 page novel is just 300 pages, starts after 12 years and ends like that? mhm

hmmm hard to rate. was it as good as the first? no. is it still good? yes.  the
duncan reborn stuff
was a bit… repetitive? i’m not sure how to say it. I liked the new religion/philosophies introduced a lot. alia and irulan are crazy i lowkey love them. i feel like this really did add to the themes of the first book in really interesting ways. left me a lot to chew on and the aesthetics (? vibes?) are still very fun to read.
