I really enjoyed this book! Elizabeth is someone to look up to, mostly. She speaks her mind, she goes for what she wants. But she is also unwilling to compromise or change her mind about things. Everything worked out for her but she really didn't seem to change or grow as a result of her experience.

BIG SPOILERS-
When Calvin died I just couldn’t keep reading. That made me sad to my soul - for Calvin, for Elizabeth, for Six Thirty - and I had no desire to keep going. In fact, I wish I had stopped reading about 10 pages earlier so I would never have had to read that.

Not poorly written or anything like that, but it just made me so sad that I had no desire to keep reading.

Really enjoyed this book, though I don’t understand the obsession - primarily because I didn’t find the main character to be particularly relatable. It was well written and I loved the character development throughout. A big sign to me that many women today are craving permission to be the full expression of themselves. Overall a great book - especially for a new author - and a quick read.

Holy fuck. Wow. Just… wow. This book had me feeling so much, anger, frustration, hope, sadness, it had it all.
The writing style was quirky which reflected the quirkiness of Elizabeth and I just loved the story from start to finish. In fact, I usually don’t like books written in a non-linear kinda fashion, but Bonnie Garmus has done a superb job in weaving this story.
This book had me gripped pretty much from the first page, I couldn’t put it down, and when I had to put it down I just thought about it.
Not only did this book have me feeling things, it also made me think, truly think, about how this book isn’t set that long ago, and how this was the reality for women. I don’t think I’ve read a book in this era that quite handles it the way Bonnie Garmus did.
Once again I will say wow, just wow.
