Phenomenal. Neil Gaiman hits it out of the park again. I am *this* close to going back and rereading it again, and I just finished it. A wonderful tribute to fathers everywhere, and their storytelling ability. It's also a fantastic yarn in its own right. The artwork is fun and fits the story, although I'm sorely tempted to import the U.K. version, which was illustrated by a different artist. Why? I don't know. I can't decide if I should loan this to one of my Neil Gaiman-loving friends, or my own Dad first. I think he would enjoy it on a few different levels.

Pure zany fun... When Mom is out of town and Dad forgets to pick up milk for the breakfast cereal, the situation seems dire. But never fear: Dad saves the day even though his trip to get the milk involves run-ins with aliens, pirates, dinosaurs, a cranky tribal god, and a few piranhas. [a:Roald Dahl|4273|Roald Dahl|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1311554908p2/4273.jpg] fans will love this longer-than-a-picture-book-but-not-exactly-a-chapter-book that begs to be shared aloud. [a:Skottie Young|62104|Skottie Young|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1355502093p2/62104.jpg]'s whacky illustrations pair perfectly.

Brilliant. It’s silly, laughable, and even complex with layers of time travel… follow the milk!! I listened to the author on audio which only added to my enjoyment.
