Christina Lauren has come a long way since this book. Their other books have taken out the extreme smut-only plot line and I think this has greatly benefited their writing. 

The fact that the MCs were having sex less than 14 PAGES in was the main sign this wasn’t for me. Also even though the sex IS consensual, the fact that THE BOSS initiated it by feeling her up randomly mid meeting was absolutely disgusting.

Solid 3 stars. It’s a fun, quick, smutty read —but I didn’t feel super connected to either of the main characters. Their growth more came from just the obstacle of falling in love while working together and the power dynamic between them. BUT it was still a fun little read.

While this book doesn’t have strong focus on character development or acknowledgement of flaws, it is not meant to. This book is meant to be a quick paced smut read, and is highly comparable to a good quality wattpad book. If that is what you are looking for, this book is perfect for you.
