I have been on a nonfiction kick lately and this latest installment was wonderful. The essays are all different, reflecting the diverse personalities of the authors. The subjects range from marital trouble to parenting competition. It was as informative as it was entertaining. It changed my understanding of what being in love meant. Definitely recommend.

Loved this! Found myself nodding again and again. It was so nice to see I'm not alone with so many issues.

I like the different stories from each woman. I found that I had something in common with each one. Some of the essays were a bit deep and none of the authors seemed to deal with middle class values.

It did make me feel better than no matter what women deal with the same ideals, realistic visions, and daily crawls of insanity that I do in my little middle class life.

I'm sure I'm biased because this book wss one of my first introductions to feminism, read several years before becoming a wife and mom. My initial reactions were strong--some were like the bad reviews I've read on here. However, over the past ten years their stories and frustrations have stuck with me as I finally experiences those trials in my own way and their voices have helped me to think I'm not the only one feeling this way many times.

Like all compilations there are stories that I don't care about and others that seem to be spookily in tune with how my mind works. It's an interesting read so far.

A difficult nighttime read due almost wholly to the printed font size, it was so small that the thought of reading it at the end of the day seemed like too much work. Definitely some interesting stories though others I could have easily skipped over.

I'd say I identified with about a third of this book, but I didn't walk away with any solutions, which what I really wanted. I think it's not that kind of a book, though.

Listened to this on tape and really enjoyed that each writer read the story they wrote. I thought it was a great collection of stories. Very thought provoking and interesting to read as a recent college graduate about to move into the real world!

If you like to listen to New York women neurotically overanalyze, this book is for you. If you are from the other 49 states, one essay would have sufficed.

I loved this book. I didn't identify with all of the contributors but could with most. I felt like they were living my life and I had an "a-ha moment" on almost every page.
