It really needed an editor - adverbs used instead of adjectives, missing punctuation, and sometimes I had to reread pages over again because the story would skip ahead without being fleshed out and it took some time to figure out what was going on. It felt like it was moving fast and the plot wasn't fully developed. The concept for the the story/book was good.

4.5 I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book. I don't normally go for a dragon book or really any fantasy style things because I get so lost with world building it just gets too complicated. Then I'm confused or not getting the full experience of the book. I did not have that problem at all with this book she explained everything so well and I was never confused or lost. I loved the complexity of the emotions the characters displayed. I was very drawn into the story. I very much liked the ending. I'm surprised this is her first book because it was so well written and honestly I don't know why she isn't way more popular! I will definitely be reading more from this author. I would reread this book in a few years
