This book was fine, it grasped my attention on and off throughout. Not sure if it's that I am not a die-hard fan or just felt it lacked an edge to take it from fine to great. Perhaps because in all his telling not a lot of adversities had to be overcome. As he states he had a lot of pure luck, and no doubt worked hard at what was given...just missed the part where he suffered for it. In general his writing style was simple and easy to follow and not overly full of description and explanations which I appreciate. Just didn't leave me dying to tell others about it
I absolutely loved reading this book. So funny and interesting. Rick Mercer is a Canadian treasure.
This book was exactly what I hoped it would be. It’s like sitting beside the Rick Mercer we see on TV and listening to him tell you the story of his life, This Hour…, the His other shows and exploits. It’s an uplifting and overwhelmingly positive look at his journey so far.

I'm not sure I have the words to properly describe how much I loved reading this book. Nor am I sure I have the words to properly describe how much I enjoy anything Rick Mercer puts out. This man is truly an icon, especially in Newfoundland. This book is a must-read! I happily await a part 2!
I highly recommend listening to this (read by Rick Mercer) for maximum enjoyment! So many laugh out loud funny stories. I loved hearing about his childhood antics and his school "career". I felt it dragged on a bit as we go to the seven hour mark (that is why it is not a 5* rating from me) but otherwise it was excellent.
