This one was cool. At times I really didn't like the pirate conflict portion, but all-in-all the story was still good. Now... when they entered deep space and encountered the Siblings of Rebirth, that got me excited to see how things will play out in the next volume for the crew, especially with Vess.

I liked this book in the series a lot better than the first. The characters and story seem easier to follow even while making huge plot developments. While part of the romance arch seems obvious I'm really enjoying it. I even liked Turo, not sure if you're suppose to like a Salvager. The book left on a cliff hanger. And here I go to the next book

Fall 2021 (November);
~ 2021 Hugo Graphic Novel Nominee

Writing this review for both Vol 1 & Vol 2, as I had to read the first to be ready to read the second, which is the one on nominee status for this year. This story wasn't confusing, but it, also, wasn't very compelling. Found family & romance on a spaceship, thrown from one dicey situation to the next, while trying to take down an evil corporation and religious order that are in bed with each other. The love story definitely doesn't feel earned on either side.
