Two paralell stories - one about the history of philosophy and one fictional, with complicated referensens.
Fun to read. And I learned a lot.

This one definitely needs a reread. I believe I was around Sophie's age when I read the book initially for class, but I can hardly remember anything beyond the synopsis.

I'm not sure how to begin explaining my experience with this book, but I'll try anyway.

I listened to the Audio Book Version of it, the German one.

I really loved the first half of the book, even though I found the pace a bit too fast, especially the switching between the philosophers and their schools.
For someone who already has a lot of knowledge about Philosophy it is probably quite boring though.
It was interesting, but suddenly after I was done with about 2/3 of the book, there was this huge plot-twist I found really terrible. Then, as far as I'm concerned, the book just got worse and worse. The pace got really fast and I was just hoping for the book to be over, really. Or at least getting some kind of closure, solution to the whole thing.
But there was none, not really. It was somewhat open-ended, with no closure to either of the story lines.

So three stars because I really liked the first half.

Also, I have read some pages in the book and found them rather boring, so listening to the audio version was probably more interesting as well.
