This was fairly quiet and slow moving, but I enjoyed the characters. I like watching Persephone find herself in Hades and embrace her power.
I didn't realize when I started reading that the author considers this YA, so I was a little disappointed it wasn't smut. I'm glad to have read this, but I don't know that I would have finished it if I hadn't put it on a Reading Challenge - it was just too easy to set aside, which is why it took me three months to read it.

I loved the concept of this book! A sapphic retelling of Hades and Persephone? Sounds amazing!
I enjoyed reading it and it was a quick read but I didn't really get into it. It was a book where I never forgot that I was reading but I still enjoyed the story.
Zeus as the big bad guy was a great choice but also explored too little for my taste. There were a few things that didn't make any sense and it sometimes felt little thought through.
All in all a solid read. If you want to read it go ahead but it's not something I will go around recommending to people. I just wish there were more sapphic retellings of greek mythology.

I loved this book and I hated this book (for the reason that I felt so deeply about this book and it’s enticing characters.) I certainly did not expect this book as a whole even after knowing the myth of Persephone and Hades. I was very pleasantly surprised.
