Grave witch Alex Craft is still reeling from her ordeals in Grave Dance. Her eyesight is still wonky, her relationship with Falin, the fae FIB agent, is seemingly doomed, her love for Death fluctuates with every day she doesn’t see him, and her new, “glowing” way of life may place even more of a strain on her venture into the world of private investigations with her best friend, Rianna.
Everything changes when Alex witnesses a man jump off a building. Ruled a suicide, the case appears cut-and-dried to the police and witnesses – well, the witnesses who can’t see dead people. Alex’s powers as a grave witch throw her into an investigation of apparent suicides — an investigation that finally brings business to Tongues for the Dead, but may also bring the true death to Alex’s doorstop.

Grave Memory by Kalayna Price had me doing the bipolar tango – I laughed, I cried, I pulled my hair and rent my teeth in the manner of all naughty toddlers (or, in this case, naughty reviewers who have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers). While the main focus of the series is certainly NOT the Many Romances of Alex Craft, my inner romance-junkie lives off the scenes where we see Alex interact with Falin and/or Death. Both men (and I use that term loosely) got equal playing time in Grave Memory, which both pleased and frustrated me. Readers learned a great deal about each in this installment, but very few of the lingering questions regarding either were answered. It would have almost been better to have two books – one focusing on Death and one on Falin and the fae court.

The main part of the plot, though, had me gnawing my nails. The Big Bad causes death by suicide, and he doesn’t appreciate Alex interfering in his fun. This leads to a few spoiler-worthy events that are complete game changers, both in Alex’s life in the human world and in the supernatural world.

Even with my romantic frustrations, I thoroughly enjoyed Grave Memory. Kalayna takes the dark and dangerous side of Urban Fantasy and sprinkles some light-hearted fun, original mythology, and sexy sidekicks. I give it four and a half tombstones.

Read 12/05/2013. 4 stars

Reread 23/02/2016. Still 4 stars.

I love this series! Never thought I'd say I've got the hots for Death! LOL!

3.5 stars. This series continues to hold my interest. What's not to like about Alex? And while it took awhile, we do get to see more of Death in the latter part of this book, and it was worth the wait! Who ever thought a soul collector could be so selfless?!

Alex's ability to see and hear ghosts gets her involved in a case of an apparent suicide. After witnessing the event and hearing the ghost vehemently deny any desire to kill himself, Alex shares that information with his wife and takes on the case to find out what happened. What she learns is that there may be more suicides than just this one.

The story slowed a bit when Alex went into faerie. She still cannot decide if she should be independent or join one of the courts, and I wanted to shake her and say, just make the decision, why don't you?! Falin also had a smaller part in this book.

The ending was a bit surprising. While I'm not so sure how I feel about about it, I can't wait for the next book to find out where it takes this series!

Great as usual :-)

Love the series and the book. Death and Falin are back in action, and she is working side by side with her friends Rianna, Holly, Tamara and Caleb. PC, her dog also makes and appearance or two.

I don't like giving out spoilers in a short "What did i think?" review.... so i am not.(well at least i am trying to). The characters are true to their previous two novels. This book/series is more urban fantasy than paranormal romance. Yes, there is some romance but it is kept at a minimum. If i want to read PNR, i will pick a book by an author that writes PNR. As it is, i love UF and Kalayna Price has mastered the genre again.
I devoured the book and can't wait for the next one in the series.
I can only recommend this book or series. If you start out at book 1 you will get the whole story line and you will be hooked right away

I gave it 3.5 stars

The Winter Queen really knows how to throw a wrench in situations. She sucks and I cant wait to see Alex take her down (Please tell me that day is coming). I love that Alex has decided to open up her PI firm, I enjoy reading about all the trouble she gets herself in as she investigates. I enjoy reading about all of Alex's friends and how they are pulled in to the story, and the support they provide when needed. Death actually play's a big role in GRAVE MEMORY and we get some info about him and the other reapers. I'm excited to find out more. There are a lot of characters throughout the story but one that sticks out the most was Briar. She is definitely going to be in future books and I don't think she will be on Alex's side in the future.

The love triangle is getting a bit tedious. One second She is with Death and things are going great and the next she's with Falin. One Second she's with Falin and things are going good, the next she is with Death. The whole thing is why I took off half a star. It gets frustrating and kinda silly the way her situation keeps swapping. (I'm secretly Team Death though so I'm rooting for him).

I have a feeling Faerie will play a really big role in book 4 and I'm not entirely sure if that is a good thing or not but I will continue to follow the series. Any fan of the first two books will be happy with book 3.

Oh how I love theeeeeeeeee! Ms. Price, you wicked lil author.... How dare you! Loved this book as I have the other 2, this was probably my face so far. Um hello Death baby. FOR THE WIN!

Only downside, having to wait for the next installment.
