I love this book as an insight into social attitudes among the upper class in the 1930s (around the time it was written). It is witty and does not take itself too seriously, however the underlying tragedy to the main storyline reveals a self-aware social commentary for the time. I feel like many enjoyers of Jane Austen's works would like this sort of book.

Funny, but Linda was such an unlikeable character. I’ll never understand why they all loved her so much.
