Overall i enjoyed it, I’m hoping the rest of the series is done just as well.
Moderate: Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Alcoholism and Sexual content
Have you seen the movie Fear with Mark Whalberg and Reese Witherspoon? This book is nothing like that but there is a very similar roller coaster scene 😜gemin1reader's review

It’s set in a super kitschy theme park so lots of rollercoaster plot and metaphors. I will read the rest in the series.

This was so so cute and sexy.
Let’s talk about Emory first. First of all, I kind of fell in love with his name the first time I read it, just saying.
This is a grumpy-sunshine story, and Emory in the beginning was extremely grumpy, but when I tell you this man is obsessed with her, I am not kidding. The way this character was written left me speechless. He said all the right things, he was understanding, considerate, funny, flirty and so so sexy. This man fell first and harder, and we love that, don't we? Literally, in Lorelei's pov, she was all "I bet he hates me and thinks I'm so annoying" and then you moved to his pov and he was thinking of how much he loves her smile and how jealous he was her smiles and laughter was never directed to him. I had such a great time with these two!! And I'm also pretty sure Emory is going to be on my top 5 male leads of the year.
Moving on to the main conflict of the book, I was hesitant at first because I thought the way the author handled the 3rd act breakup would ruin the book for me, but it definitely didn't! Things that had to happen happened, and the characters handled everything great, I have no complains about how the conflict got solved.
I also enjoyed the dynamics between Lorelei and her friends. This first book was an assertive introduction to them, I think the author did a great job setting the bases to what's coming. When I'm writing this, the second book of this series is already published and the third is on its way. I'm super excited to keep reading about them and their beautiful small town. The story I look forward the most has not been announced yet, so I still don't know if the hints I thought I sensed are correct (crossing my fingers that they are), but I hope I enjoy the following books as much as I did this one. I'm going to dive straight to the next couple❤️

I liked the beginning of it, but the hatred part disappeared way too early, and the way Emory never actually apologised for his shitty behaviour to Lorelei and was instead instantly forgiven pissed me off. So I wasn't the biggest fan of the romance, especially because the development to "love" wasn't that apparent to me? By the time they confessed their love to each other, I still felt very mediocre about them.
Characters outside of Emory and Lorelei were very forgettable, particularly Lorelei's friends. From the moment they first appeared, I knew I'd have issues remembering who was who, and that definitely stayed that way. I actually had to re-read the scene where they got first introduced sometimes, just so I could recall details about them again. Especially Ruby, Quinn, and Theo were interchangeable in my mind.
The writing of the book was ... not that great? It wasn't bad by any means, but Olivia kept using comparisons that made no sense to me and just took me out of the story. It usually doesn't bother me when it happens a few times, but it constantly happened in here. It was also way too dramatic sometimes.
But the story was overall light to read, and there were some funny moments. So it was fine! Just not that spectacular.
