that was genuinely so fascinating, i adore laure. she's ruthless and cutthroat but in the paris ballet scene it makes sense, all her anger and her justified hatred for the system is so relatble but watching her fight against ambition and realise it was a never ending battling was so heartbreaking. i think this book has such an introspective view on ambition and the self destruction that followed. TOXIC YURI!!!!!!! big boom for that i kinda wish they got freakier with the toxic yuri but i love evil bisexuals. Morally grey everyone really AND the folklore that tied into it was such a banger

“What is life but hunger and resilience?”
I am a member of the menace protagonist club always and forever (Frankly, I’d kill to read more of them). I believe Laure was valid in everything she did, no one will change my mind about that.
Though, I didn’t think I could get any anger as I turned each page; (I wanted to reach through the pages on some of the stuff those hating ballerinas were saying).
I maybe the complete opposite of Laure personality wise, but I still related to her. Truly, this book touches on something deep, the reality of giving everything you are and still not being enough.

SO SO SO FREAKING GOOD!! While I wouldn’t put this as a scary horror, the nightmare fuel descriptions of certain events gave good skin crawling horror! I’d love to see this in live action! As a former dancer myself, I loved seeing how the drive for perfection would make someone so desperate to make a deal for your soul. Such a well done trope here! Loves it so much!!!
