First  half could be shorter in my opinion. It was a lot of setup and parts I don't remember. It picked up midway when we find out she's time traveling and meets her dad and goes back and forth realizing how large or little her change was. That was the core of the story.

The father and daughter relationship is sweet. Though it's unfamiliar to me since I'm not close with my dad at all. But I can appreciate it and even more appreciate the overall message in reflecting on what matters in your life and what you'd want to change or want unchanged if you can go back in time. But also, what is impossible to change and how much you care about that.

This book started out very very slowly. It was setting up the main character, Alice, in her “original” life and timeline. And she had a pretty boring life. I almost gave up reading then, because the story wasn’t very grippy. But then the time travel part started, and I have to say that of the many imaginings of how time travel is portrayed in many books and movies, this one kind of made sense. Time travel has its own rules and intrigue that one can almost believe. I enjoyed it quite a bit from that point forward, and our boring Alice has a nice character arc. The story delivers a good message of starting every day fresh, and we are really only defined by who we are on the inside and all that. So I docked points for a boring beginning, but overall I recommend this as an enjoyable read.

The book that urges you to reimagine your future, no matter what your age, and make peace with the past.

One of my fav quotes,

“Fiction, maybe, or art—were those religions? Believing that the stories you told could save you, and could reach everyone you had ever loved?”
