A girl with a kickass toolbelt finds love
I think when I was younger I wanted a life like Cat's. Where I was fiercely independent and lived my life by my own terms. Breaking the mild states early for her and it is girls like that, that pave the way for change. Noah wants to new permanently stable because of his childhood. Completely understandable. Their chemistry is of the charts, with their personalities flipping with the loss of clothes. Great story. I definitely have enjoyed every Lucy Score book I've come across.

This was such a cute holiday read! It felt like a spicy Hallmark movie with more adult humor, and I loved it. I was laughing, feeling all the emotions, and enjoying the abundance of cute and silly moments throughout the story.
I loved both main characters, despite some initial frustrations with them. Noah was super judgmental and close-minded about Cat and her celebrity status, while Cat fought hard not to fall into a family trap with Noah by denying her feelings for as long as possible. That said, the tense hatred these two had for each other at the beginning more than made up for these flaws. Some of their interactions were honestly hilarious, and I found myself laughing out loud at times.
I also really liked the storyline. It didn’t feel too slow or too fast, and was pretty interesting despite being mostly character-driven–as it usually is with romance reads. And Cat’s determination and independence were refreshing to see; I loved how she got things done. She had a fantastic “take no shit” attitude and refused to let anyone shame her for her life choices. I wish I carried that kind of confidence in myself all the time, so it was inspiring to read about.
Read this if you want a holiday romance with:
- Spicy Hallmark movie vibes
- Single dad
- Hate-to-love
- Small-town
- She’s a celebrity on a mission
