This was so cute. I finally found an adorable Christmas book this season that left me feeling festive and giddy with the love story between the two main characters.

Noah and Cat had such great chemistry, during every aspect of their relationship arc. The push and pull between the two kept me entertained and I loved all of their interactions. The author created a really healthy dynamic between the two where they forced one another to open up, to face their challenges and there was little miscommunication. It was even lacking the stereotypical huge third act conflict that can make or break romance books. I appreciated that so much, where the conflict fit the story well and it wasn’t dragged out.

I will say sometimes the time jumps creating a weird feeling with the pacing, and the ending concluded just a bit too abruptly for me. However, I’ve been craving a fun, holiday read and this one did not disappoint.

"But the point of working hard isn’t really getting people to notice how hard you work. It’s about giving it your all and being able to walk away with no regrets. "

Synopsis:
She'll save Christmas just to spite him...

There's only one thing standing in the way of Cat King saving a small town's Christmas festival: Grumpy town manager Noah Yates.

Single dad Noah takes his responsibilities seriously. When a late season hurricane turns Merry, Connecticut, into a disaster, he's left scrambling to pick up the pieces of the town he loves.

At least, until home renovation expert and smoking hot reality TV star Catalina King arrives with a camera crew and a budget big enough to put the town back together again. But Noah doesn't want a celebrity diva capitalizing on their tragedy or filling his daughter's head with visions of glitz and glam.

Blonde bombshell Cat is used to being underestimated, but Noah has an uncanny knack for getting under her skin. They can't be in a room together without rubbing each other the wrong way...except that time in the dark alley where the rubbing was just right. Can these enemies work together to pull off a Christmas miracle or will their fighting leave them both on the naughty list?

Review:
I was excited to return to Merry and the world of King Construction after reading Mr Fixer Upper earlier this year.  I am a Lucy Score STAN and love her writing and her books so much so I'll start there, her writing style was the same as usual and I enjoyed that. However, the story wasn't what I normally love about a Lucy book. Cat was a strong, independent woman who knew her worth, Noah was a grump who was a little too rude instead of just grumpy. He didn't listen to her reasoning for her choices and made her feel bad about herself on multiple occasions. Cat was a character that I believed in, she was strong. She worked hard but I almost found myself hoping she didn't end up with Noah because he didn't give her the respect she deserved from the start, and when he started giving her respect he didn't atone for the disrespect he'd shown earlier. I found myself more interested in the snippets of Gannon, Paige and Gabby than I did wanting to read about Noah and Cat's story. This one just fell flat for me, which was sad since I love Lucy's writing so much. I wouldn't read it again but I don't regret reading it.
