A fine holiday tale that uses the rejuvenation of a small town as its primary focus. I immediately liked Cat's fiercely independent personality as well as her penchant for helping those in need; warming to Noah took longer, especially since his stubborn resistance to a reality show's offer to help revive his hurricane-ravaged home of Merry was baffling at first. The book felt a little long with the pacing slow at times, and the various characters within this small town could have been a little better drawn to give it the coziness that I craved. However, for the most part, the story works well and is satisfying. I liked seeing Cat and Noah appreciating and revealing different parts of themselves to each other, which made their romance feel very rewarding, and the fact that they unknowingly crossed paths in the immediate aftermath of the hurricane gave their relationship an interesting extra layer. I really enjoyed the renovation aspect of the plot and definitely need to pick up the preceding book to find out more about Gannon and Paige.
