This is book one of the London Players series and a short story featured in the Love Is In the Air anthology.

I really enjoyed Jake and Victoria's story.

There was an instant and mutual attraction, despite a very obvious dislike for each other.

Their story started out rife with sexual tension - which quickly escalated - then morphed into 'more'.
Like any other fake relationship story, feelings quickly got thrown into the mix and previously held beliefs morphed into new dreams.

Although their relationship was pretty drama free, that aspect was provided by Jake's job as a rugby player.

It was lovely to see him develop and grow as a person - in fact, I think that was perhaps my favourite part of this story - watching him go from a hot-headed playboy to a calm and collected relationship guy.

The Offer by Becca Steele is a fake relationship sports romance. This is the first book in the London Players series and can be read as a standalone. It was originally published within the Love Is In the Air anthology. This novella edition has been revised and expanded.

This is the third series of Becca's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. She does an amazing job pulling me into the story. I couldn't help but binge the book in one sitting. I loved the chemistry between Jake and Victoria. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series The Player to be released so I can get Alex's story. In the meantime I will need to go read the London Suits series so I can get Avery and Ethan's story and Olivia and Luke's story since they were mentioned in this book.

I would recommend this book if you love fake relationships, sport romances, or contemporary romance.

The Offer

I like that this was a continuation of the novella, The Deal. You get the introduction to both of these characters in that book. Victoria is Ethan's sister and we see him giving her away at her wedding to Ralph. This story picks up from her wedding night.
Jake just has an introduction as a rugby

Ok.

Honestly, I read most of this book and then returned it. I didn’t realize that until I went to check it out to read (thinking for the first time). I went ahead and finished it. It wasn’t bad but wasn’t memorable to me either; hence, the three star review. Definitely think readers should develop their own opinion, though.

The Offer is a fun and enticing read- short, steamy and sweet, the perfect bite-sized diversion. Originally included in an anthology and now extended to a longer novella, we have the story of Jake, the famous naughty superstar rugby player who needs to clean up his public image, and rich girl Victoria who is desperate to evade her mother’s bougie match making attempts. On the surface, these two couldn’t be more different, but they agree to a mutually beneficial fake relationship that ends up evolving into something much more delicious. They have an undeniable chemistry full of sexual tension and flirty banter, and soon feelings merge. Overall, a fun quick read, and definitely entices me to want to read more of this series.

So...this was everything I love about a Becca Steele novel - hot brits in silly situations.

However, it was really a short story rather than a fleshed-out novel. The reason why Ethan’s fake-date story worked out so well is there was tension between him and Avery, and we got to see them discover (and fight) their feelings for each other.

I would have loved to see them go out a time or two before hooking up and to see them both have some “what am I doing moments.”
