"No matter the road you take, it doesnt matter if its beautiful or ugly, hard or smooth, paved or pitted with rutsits your road to take. What matters is how it ends."
Už chápu proč je kniha tak populární a jsem ráda, že jsem si jí přečetla. Sice mi to trvalo delší dobu, protože jsem se vůbec nemohla pořádně začíst..

This was a 4 stars for me ,but the 1st epilogue made me take one out , why ? Because i hate it when the h/H little sibling calls the h/ H partner Dad or Mum .... that's a huge No no from me and it always ruins my mood

This book really just did it for me.

You have your angsty hero who is spoiled and misunderstood and your cold heroine who is trying to get justice.

Was this book trashy? Yes. “Hot garbage” as some would say. Did I love every second? Yes. Yes I did.

Ava comes back to school after a year off due to being sexually assaulted at a party (trigger warning for that coming up in the book a few times.) and she is trying to prove that she is more than the rumors being spread about her and the lies people believe about what happened that night.

Ava wants justice.

Knox is the head of the sharks, the quarterback for the high school football team. He is cold and calculated and lets no one in.

Except her.

When Ava and Knox are paired for a school project, these two find they both have some backlogged feelings lingering for one another.

The sex scenes? Beautiful. (Except when he said she tasted like destiny when eating her out.. that was just so wrong.)

The pining? Slow and painful. And delicious.

The dual epilogue? Normally I would hate but I was so attached to these characters I would do anything to get more content of them.

I loved this mess. I absolutely, unapologetically loved it. Maybe new comfort book for me.

5/5 stars.

My heart still hurts for these characters. This was such a roller coaster of angst and I loved every minute of reading it. I could not put this book down. I fell so hard for these beautifully well-developed characters and I would so love to read more. I can't wait to see what Ilsa Madden-Mills brings us next.

I first read this as a novella in an anthology. It stood out from the rest and has been on my mind since then. When I found out that it was getting expanded into a full story I was very excited.

The author did a great job creating characters and a storyline that were compelling. This was a tough subject(s) that were covered. It was done with care. I liked watching Knox and Ava grow. I got a little confused towards the end as it seemed like they were strangers but the two epilogues made the book end on a happy note.

Off topic, this cover is delicious.

⭐️ 5 "Tulip" Stars ⭐️
I first read the excerpt of Dear Ava featured in the Team Player 2 Anthology last fall and fell in love with this marvelous, emotional story! Right from the prologue, I was utterly captivated! I can declare without a once of a doubt that this novel is my new favorite from Ilsa Madden-Mills! She truly delivered a flawlessly executed touching story!

Ava is a courageous, inspiring heroine wise beyond her age. Despite the traumatizing night she suffered at the hands of a “Shark”, she’s unyielding in her quest for answers and keep her head up at Camden Prep. The way she’s so strong had me pleasantly amazed. Yes, there’s heartbreaking moments where she’s plagued by that fateful night, but she doesn’t let it dictate her life and still has great aspirations. She certainly has some sass and boldness in her that mostly comes to show in the presence of Knox. That boy, knows how to push her buttons!

Knox is the star quarterback of Camden Prep, but at the same time so much more than meets the eyes. He plays the cliché jock, but he’s also tormented by his past. I loved the chapters in his point of view, where it’s so easy to see that he has an undeniable affinity to the girl. She’s always been fascinating to him and now that she’s back, he wants her so see the real him. He’s cocky at times or also cold and aloof, but he never misses a chance to help Ava. He’s really dreamy and I loved him.

What I cherished most about this story is their relationship. The banter and the magnetism they share is just so powerful. My stomach was full of butterflies from their interactions. The sexy moments when the air is charged with a potent energy was fabulous! I was so invested in the outcome of Ava’s search for answers. The intrigue was titillating and the little hints here and there about the identity of her aggressor had me gripped.

Ilsa Madden-Mills created a heartfelt story that I couldn’t put down! The main characters, but also the supporting ones were so interesting and gave me all the feels! Dear Ava is a must read sports, enemies to lovers romance!
