Had to read it in school in 13th grade and actually read it. It was quite funny in an unwanted way I think (some formulations). At the beginning easy to read but as it went on it got more confusing because of the many different characters and what they really wanted and only pretended to want. Plus we've talked about in school for about 20 weeks too long, it just got annoying. Brecht himself is quite an interesting topic though.

my first brecht play and what a play! it tackles the goodness humanity is capable of but reminds us of the all too high barriers put in place by capitalism to prevent that. phenomenal and truely groundbreaking in its time. brecht was a genius.

If you liked this then I would recomend Nick Hornby 'How to be Good'. it sticks to the themes of trying to be a good person and the difficulties between philanthropy and living a happy and fulfilling life.

Good story. But I hated every single character (i know that it is intentional but still)
