This is a witty, poignant story with a great voice. Junior is a compelling protagonist with a cast of great supporting characters, especially his best friend Rowdy. A fast, fun read with a lot of emotion and insight.
It just was not my type of book. It was boring and I couldn't get the humour of it. It sure is not something I would recommend.
Funny and heartbreaking and wonderfully readable. I can see why this is such a popular high school lit book in the Pacific northwest these days--definitely worthy.

Kind of meh. Not as deep as I hoped, the main character’s experiences were typical teenager with a little bit of “I’m a Native American and these are my experiences in America” thrown in. Maybe that was the point?
