This was a cute romance story and I loved how body positive it was. I was not a fan of Reid though. He made me really mad and was not leading man material to me. I felt like he should have groveled more.

Listened to the audiobook.

Overall I found this to be a nice cozy romance that checked all the right boxes. Nothing super high stakes. Bipoc, queer, and body diversity representation that was handled well.

I really appreciated how (after the 3rd act breakup) the MMC took steps to correct what he had done to the FMC, put in the extra effort to show just how much he was proud of her and her work, and used his privilege and success to help connect her with future opportunities. I do wish there was more groveling. Or more angst from the MMC over his deception.

Loved the sapphic rep, particularly that we got married sapphics who were starting a family. Sam’s character reminds me why I love to be friends with blunt and slightly mean people.

I enjoyed this a lot, I predicted most of the third act breakup and the winning her back thing was actually a lot sweeter than I pictured but idk it just lacked something for me. I love the concept of boudoir photography and photography in general. I just find it such a fun new thing to read about since it’s not your cliche romance niche, but Reid was meh for me as an MMC.

I expected a bit more spice than I got. Otherwise it would’ve been a four.

I love love loved this title -- it was very much a grumpy meets grumpier enemies to lovers and the city of Chicago was its own character. Very much enjoyed this journey and the slow burn of the central relationship. Looking forward to more entries in this series!

NOTE: Although I am moots with the author, that in no way affected my review.
