this love story has been blooming since the start of the series, and it’s easy to draw parallels of each book into it, like the roots that shaped the flower that is this couple. even though it’s a different type of ink, tattoos are nova’s poetry, he writes in floral patterns. the secret tattoos behind the tattoos were the perfect metaphor for his own character, the one with more than meets the eye, hiding from the love that’s been right in front of him, but tending to it like you do to a tattoo, going back for retouches after a few years. and when he finally opened his eyes it was like reviving a plant that you thought was beyond repair, bringing magic to your garden.

With each book of this series I fall more in love with this world and the Fallen Men. Each book just gets better and better.
And the beautifully written love story of Lila and Nova just proves this. I had been waiting to get to this and it exceeded my expectation by a mile ❤️

Not only did this book keep me on the edge of my seat, it had one of those stories where the couple are just purely, simply, fiercely and madly in love, no matter how hard they fight it. My heart strings were pulled, my heart also broke a little but this was so good!
I dare say these two have taken over King and Cress as my favourite Fallen couple

- ok this was very sad at the beginning. I shed tears
- ok nova. You’re such an ass. You’re SUCH an ass. To behave like that with her knowing she’s in love with you???
- girl. This is a bad idea. Wtf
- I don’t know what she’s actually doing with the whole sex trafficking thing
- her knowing Dane is alive and not telling nova BETTER NOT be a reason for their breakup istg
- for nova to behave like that with her even though he knows she deserves. Disgusting
- for her to accept it. I feel bad for her. Girl. Get out. It’s not worth it
- omens she didn’t do much to save the girls did she? Maybe I missed it.
- girl no. You can’t just forgive him that easy. Wtf
- hm ok. Asking her to tattoo their initials on him was cute.
- it just occurred to me how easily she forgot about a a WHOLE ASS FIANCÉ. like girl I know you’ve always loved nova but you agreed to MARRY another guy and literally not one thought went to him after the breakup? Not one messily thought?
- I guess the angst was good. But I wanted more grovel from him. I wanted her to make him work for it.
- I feel like the whole Meredith thing was swept away easily. Like he was her patient. She took advantage of that. That’s a big deal
- ok it was mentioned again. Good I guess
- idea with the tree. I might do that actually

This was the most hyped-up book in the series and I went in with high expectations just to be disappointed. The concept I found interesting but I didn't like how some stuff was done. I think that the heroine's love felt more like an obsession than his. I didnt hate everything in this book but there was just some shit I didnt like. I won't say more cause some other reviews already said what I was thinking.
