This book is all over the place. I was over 50% of the way through the book and I still couldn't understand the plot. All the chapters were in different characters 3rd person pov and sometimes it would start in one pov and switch to another with no warning! I'm sure the end is great and super profound or whatever but I'm not reading 350 pages of nothing for the 40 pages of conclusion that makes it make sense.

This was an excellent book. I just didn't enjoy it. It felt slow and meandering at first. It eventually picked up the pace, and the various storylines came together for a thrilling ending. However, I spent most of the book wishing I had finished it. Once again, I must remember that just because a book is on a best-seller list doesn't mean I'll like it. I can appreciate this novel and even enjoyed parts of it, but I would have preferred this story as a mini-series to watch instead of reading.

To be completely honest, I had no intention or desire to read this book because I didn’t think I’d like it. Unfortunately, it was chosen for book club and I just rolled with it. If it weren’t for book club I wouldn’t have finished this book.
The plot, if there was one, was hard to follow and there were too many characters to keep track of. Also, I am not a fan of when men describe women in their books because it always comes down to physicality whether or not they’re likable. It got to a point where if I read “bouncy breasts” or “beautiful breasts” one more time I was just going to give up.
This wasn’t my cup of tea and I feel like I’ve read better stories like this.

Too slow paced, wasn’t what I expected. I did not like the town doctor and when he crossed a line and took advantage of a woman who was passed out/comatose it was the last straw for me.

The only reason I kept listening as long is because I really like the narrator.
