Complex characters, multi-layered plot, engaging setting, and talented writing. It is a slow start, and occasionally tries too hard to be philosophical, which comes up forced. But I will be reading more from this author.

It took me a bit to wrap my head around everything, but once I got there the story flowed. What I got from this book is that a community that doesn’t have much will look after their own and even a small gesture could bring someone hope and will last a lifetime.
