I read this as a palate cleanser, and I have to say it worked. It was a short, fast, spicy read. Overall, I’d say it was pretty average. The writing was just okay for me. There were some things I thought could have been more consistent or clarified or added. The characters could have had more depth. But it was fun. I had a good enough time. I might continue on with the series the next time I need a palate cleanser.

While I do think this book had a great premise and promise to be an amazing romantasy, the execution wasn’t it for me personally. It felt relatively barebones, with a lot of plotholes and even some scenes that felt gratuitous to me.
I felt while I liked the idea of them, none of the characters really grew in me, and I ended up skimming the ending more than reading.
Now that’s not to say you shouldn’t read it, it just meant it wasn’t made for me.
