Disliked the narrator of this one far less than the narrator of the second book although they sound so similar in pitch, I thought the second one was the same actor with better direction. I’ll give the print a read a see how it changes my enjoyment of the book, as I’ve already read the second one multiple times in a week but only twice for this one (I listen to audiobooks to fall asleep)

The start of a really enjoyable little YA ghost series, I'm looking foreward to the rest of the book. An easy read but properly spooky, with fun characters and a really fascinating setting.
The was a great blend of creepy and humorous moments. I loved the thought of agencies that helped with ghost problems. Lockwood is a good character and probably not everyone will agree I love George he is just a nice guy.
I have many favorite books but if someone asked me which did I really love, I would say the Lockwood and co series because honestly that's the first thing that comes to mind.
This was my second read through since I was 12. I definitely feel outside of the target demographic, which also makes the premise seem all the more cheesy. However, I definitely still found it enjoyable, spooky, and a good amount of silly! I've given it 4/5 for being an enjoyable book for younger teens, even though it has some rough edges.
I found the descriptions of George quite uncomfortable as they involved a lot of body shaming. This became more uncomfortable as it became clear he is written as an autistic boy. The removal of this dialogue was a well needed adjustment made in the TV adaption.
I enjoyed Lucy's journey of learning to trust herself, her abilities, and her strength. She doesn't sacrifice her femininity to demonstrate her worth. However, I did find her character a bit hard to connect with/dull at times. The TV adaptation made her much more personable. I'm interested to see how her character develops through the book series.

The writing... the details are very beautiful and very descriptive. Stroud is definitely a genius. I fell in love with the characters: Lockwood, Lucy, and George, their personality, and their friendship is so uniquely that makes me be engaged with the book so much. This is becoming and will become my #1 niche, and that one book can't stop talking about
